Search For Suspect In Lakewood Police Shooting

End Of Watch: Sunday, 29 November 2009, Sgt. Mark Renninger, Officer Ronald Owens, Officer Tina Griswold, Officer Gregory Richards

SEATTLE - A police SWAT team Monday morning swarmed a Seattle home surrounded overnight but did not find suspected cop killer Maurice Clemmons inside. A murder warrant has been issued for Clemmons, the man suspected of killing four Lakewood, Wash., police officers Sunday in a coffee shop, Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said. Those killed were identified as Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39, and officers Ronald Owens, 37, Tina Griswold, 40, and Gregory Richards, 42. Police had surrounded the home late Sunday night and Troyer said the search of the house finished shortly after 7 a.m. Monday morning. Officers searched with a robot before SWAT officers moved in. There is a $125,000 reward for information leading to Clemmons' capture. By 7:45 a.m., police had removed the barricade allowing residents access to the neighbourhood. Clemmons was shot and perhaps seriously wounded by one of the slain officers Sunday morning, Troyer said."He has suffered a gunshot wound," Troyer said at a media briefing held just before 3 a.m. Police know that Clemmons was wounded because they have detained other people — Troyer wouldn't say how many — who helped Clemmons after the shootings. At the briefing, Troyer said police now consider Clemmons a suspect, rather than merely a "person of interest." Police don't know the severity of Clemmons' wound, and Troyer said he may already be dead. Investigators have no indication that Clemmons had a motive aimed specifically at any of the particular officers who were gunned down, Troyer said. "He was upset about being incarcerated," Troyer said. "He was just targeting cops." The series of events began Sunday at an upscale coffee shop, a hangout for officers that became the scene of the deadliest attack on law enforcement in state history. Four officers were shot and killed at 8:15 a.m. The first two officers were "flat-out executed," while the third tried to stop the gunman and the fourth fired at him, Troyer said. Lakewood Police Chief Bret Farrar has scheduled a news conference Monday afternoon to discuss the officers and the shooting. A community prayer service is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday. Clemmons has a long criminal record in Arkansas and Washington. He was released from custody just a week ago, and was facing a charge of raping a child. Family members described him as being in a state of mental deterioration. Last spring, he was also accused of punching a sheriff's deputy in the face. Troyer said a scruffy-looking gunman entered the shop, walked past the officers and three or four other customers, and approached the counter. A young barista asked the man if she could help him, according to Humberto Navarrete, 51, who lives nearby and later spoke to the barista. The man stared at the barista without saying a word and then opened his coat, revealing a handgun, Navarrete said. The barista and another female barista on duty ran out the back, according to Navarrete. The gunman turned and started shooting at the officers, he said, quoting the women."This was a targeted, selective ambush," Troyer said. The officers, who made up one patrol unit, were regulars at the coffee shop. They were wearing bulletproof vests and were preparing to start their day shift, Troyer said. The first two officers apparently had no time to react. The third officer stood up and tried to go for the gunman before being shot, Troyer said. The fourth officer struggled with the gunman, wrestled him out the door and managed to fire off some shots before he, too, was killed, Troyer said. I want to quote a friend of mine from his posting on FB, "May God grant the officers, families strength...may God bring healing & comfort to all...may God bring to light....the identity of those involved in this act of violence, may they find swift justice." Thank you Jim......well said......

SNL: Obama Press Conference In Beijing

This would actually be funny if it all wasn't SO true. I'm pretty sure there's a number of other world leaders who think OUR President's a laughable guy as well. I haven't finished the topic which I set out to post today, however, will complete it soon. This was just too funny to pass up.

Denial

From Merriam Webster:

denial: 1. refusal to admit the truth or reality, 2. a psychological defense mechanism in which confrontation with a personal problem or with reality is avoided by denying the existence of the problem or reality.

In denial: refusing to admit the truth or reality of something unpleasant.

The Obama Youth Indoctrination?

A comparison?......you be the judge

Unemployment Rate At 10.2 Percent

The unemployment rate just hit a new high of 10.2%, the highest rate since 1983. Of course President Obama stated that the stimulus package would prevent this from happening. Wait until hyper-inflation hits.....he'll be gone and we'll be screwed!!!

Republican Party Victories

Tuesday the Republican Party had a sweep of Virginia and New Jersey on their elections. President Obama still citing the very tiring “struggle with the Bush legacy”. A FOX News poll released yesterday shows the approval of Obama's job performance at a new low of 54 percent. That is down from 62 percent in June. Speaker of the House Pelosi cited victories in Democratic wins in congressional seats in New York and California in an attempt to offset the Republican wins. They certainly don’t want you to feel that they are worried, however, they are. I think the American people (as seen in Virginia and New Jersey) are beginning to have, perhaps, some “buyer’s remorse”.

Cure For The Obama Hangover

Community Organizer College

A mind is a terrible thing to waste.........

"This Is Change We Can Believe In?"

Don’t you want us to be a big HAPPY "one world" government? …. I’ve been reading Glenn Beck's book, “Common Sense”,...I totally agree with what he says...IT IS common sense...I honestly don't see anyone standing up for our country because the real patriots, for the most part, are the minority now...the country had been replaced with people who just don't care.... they just want to bleed off the cash cow until it’s dry...they are more apt to be worried about what new mp3 player their going to buy then the destruction of their own country…..I feel the majority of the population are mindless herding cattle, blind, don't care, even want this to happen.....a nanny state is better for them....they don't have to do anything.....just sit back and let the government "take care of them"

Four!!!

Q. How many months has President Obama kept General McChrystal waiting for an answer to his request for more troops?

A. Four!!!....guess the President was more concerned with playing golf and getting the Olympics to "his" hometown then the safety of OUR countrymen over in Afghanistan. One MUST have priorities in life.

Make Sure You Vote Today

Voting is an exciting opportunity provided by democratic nations to their citizens. Some of us don't value that option when we fail to exercise OUR RIGHT to vote. Perhaps living in another country where voting rights do not exist might change ours minds. Let everyone know that you care enough about your country and it's leaders to have a say in the election outcome. Make your vote count!

Republican Party Finds New Leadership At Last

My Dad sent this to me. We both have always liked William "Bill" Shatner. He certainly has a singular wit. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. If you like, please check my Dad's blog at http://academyguy.blogspot.com/

End Of Watch: Saturday, 31 October 2009, Officer Timothy Brenton, Seattle, Washington Police Department

SEATTLE — One police official in Seattle calls it "an assassination." Officer Brenton was sitting in the passenger seat of a patrol car with a trainee discussing a just completed traffic stop near the corner of 29th Avenue and East Yesler Way when a vehicle pulled alongside the patrol car and the occupants opened fire. Officer Brenton was killed instantly. His trainee officer was grazed in the back by a shot. She was able to get out of the patrol car, return fire several times at the shooter's fleeing vehicle, and call for additional units. Officer Brenton had served with the Seattle Police Department for nine years and previously with the La Conner Police Department. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter. His father and uncle are retired Seattle police officers. There are few clues and no suspects at this time.
God Bless his family and all my brothers and sisters
